The PTA is a registered charity which has two aims.
Firstly, it raises money which is spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance the children’s education and the facilities in school in general, and on supporting activities which promote learning, such as class trips and enrichment activities. To meet this aim various fund-raising events are held throughout the year such as an adult quiz night, a Disco for children in Years 3 to 6, and a Summer Fair.
Secondly, the PTA works to develop effective relationships between the staff, parents and carers and others involved in the school. In pursuing this aim, the PTA has provided refreshments after various Nativity plays and has worked with Miss McGinty to develop new items of school uniform such as the school jackets, rucksack and book bag.
To assist the PTA in these activities, each class has at least one Class Representative to provide a link between individual classes and parents, and the PTA Committee. If you are interested in becoming a Class Rep. please contact the Chair of the PTA.
You do not need to join the PTA as all parents and carers automatically become members when their children join the school. All parents and carers are encouraged to help with and attend fundraising events, and to enjoy the many social events throughout the school year.
If you would like to find out more about the PTA please contact the Chair or why not come to the next PTA Committee meeting details of which will be in the school newsletter and posted on this page of the website.
